About Highland Caregivers
We’re a Connecticut-registered non-medical home care agency based in Waterbury, CT — locally owned, community-focused, and built around one straightforward belief: people deserve to age at home, on their own terms, with dignity.

Why We Started — and Why It Still Drives Us
“Home isn’t just a place; it’s the foundation of who we are. Our story began with a simple observation: the care landscape needed more heart and more accountability.”
Founded by a team of local professionals who saw the struggles families faced when searching for reliable home support, Highland Caregivers was built to bridge the gap. We aren’t a massive, faceless franchise. We are neighbors caring for neighbors.
Our founders brought together expertise in operations, finance, and medicine with a shared mission: to provide the kind of care we would want for our own parents. Every decision we make—from the caregivers we hire to the way we communicate with families—is filtered through that commitment to personal excellence.
Our Mission
To provide dependable, person-centered in-home care that enhances quality of life, promotes independence, and gives families peace of mind.
Our Commitment
Helping Connecticut families keep their loved ones safe, independent, and comfortable at home — through compassionate, reliable, and professional caregiving services.
What is Non-Medical Home Care?
We are a Connecticut-registered Homemaker-Companion Agency (HCA #2270), serving Waterbury and more than 20 surrounding communities throughout central Connecticut. Every caregiver we place is background-checked, matched to each client's individual needs and personality, and held to a standard that reflects what we'd want for our own families.
Non-medical home care means we provide companion care, personal care assistance, homemaker services, dementia support, overnight care, and transportation — not skilled nursing or clinical care. We're honest about our scope, and we're excellent within it.
